A Christmas Present

Every year, it is a tradition of mine to spend the entire month of December writing a single piece of poetry that I dedicate as a gift to someone who has stood out to me for one reason or another. It is something that I hold in high regard because I spend nearly a whole month on writing the piece and, therefore, I try to make it my last crowning achievement in poetry for the year. This year's work goes to someone special to me... her name is Joykie.

Merry Christmas Joykie, you told me once that poetry is the best gift anyone can give, and you rightly deserve this because you've always been the best for me. I will always hold you in very high regard for you being here for me, even though I haven't been the best at times. Thank you for listening and not judging, for making me smile just when I needed it the most. Merry Christmas and all the best to you.

Les Chansons d'Amour

I heard a song sung long ago
When stars were set in virgin snow,
And the bells that hung high above
Were still ringing;
But Christmas came and went away,
When Santa’s Elves came out to play—
Their fiddle tunes and dancing feet
Were all singing.

The song was sung throughout the land
And placed into a marching band,
That slaughtered in the battlefield
With it's stinging.
Their tune was played of passions note
That Lord above could not have wrote,
Or Venus harp upon the heart
Of men singing.

The notes were near a dismal dirge,
That made all jump with the urge
Of lovers touch, and sweetly kiss
With its bringing.
It played aloud in hearts of men
To cause the death or craze of them,
And made the poet sadly weep
With the singing.

The Heavens cried her tears of rain
While Lava spewed his heart of flame,
And Mountains feared their roots would fly
Without clinging;
The life of all was lost that day,
God wrote a sign: “Gone out to play”
The mother cried her tears of joy,
When she’s singing.

I wandered round the virgin snow
Set in gold, the bitter glow
Of sun-drop tears in murky eyes
Filled with stinging.
They cried for souls both torn apart—
When Cupids aim finds dreaded mark—
And cried for those who have shared
With Loves singing.

Look Children!

So I've decided to try my hand at nursery rhymes... This one is deticated especially to my little sister because she inspires all my works for little children (she being quite small herself.) Anyways, yes, I think I'm becoming quite a natural at all this writing for children stuff don't you?

Snicker Shnoodle

"Snicker shnoodle"
Croaked the noodle,
As he walked down Drury Lane.

But, "Snicker snack"
Said the quicker Quack
And stabbed him once again!

Merry Christmas

Alright... so I said it! Even though I know I shouldn't because everyone is posting on their blogs about Christmas and this wonderful time of year. I shouldn't just because their all doing it but I'll do it now just for you. Yes YOU... the one reading my blog... if your not that person, then I guess its not for you and what I'll say really doesn't matter then at all.

Merry Christmas to one, to all, there's so much that one can be thankful for this time of year. I love Christmas, winter is my favorite season of the year. The snow covering the trees, the feeling one gets when their wrapped up in warm blankets by the fireplace and its cold outside, the tingling of your nose when flakes fall gently down on it--its all beautiful.

Christmas is beautiful, the smell of pine tree's, the carols (older ones, I hate the modern ones) the food, the lights, being able to spend time with friends and family...... Oh yeah, and watching the original cartoon of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Really funny, if you've ever seen it. Honestly though, the best part for me is spending time with the birthday man himself... it makes the tiring month worth the while:P

Anyways, I must be off...Merry Christmas everyone, hope this season will be filled with love, laughter and light for all of you.

Da-dada-dum

I feel as if my head has become a percussion instrument: a drum, a cymbal... an Irishman's feet atop a bar table. Bang, boom ,boom bang!--Lets both dance the Rumba. My heart beats so fast I cannot feel my pulse, my blood boils for you.

Dance, dance, dance, dance. A cold sweat is my treasured gift to mankind.

And I'm falling--watch me fly, I flap with paper wings. The dark abyss is frightening, exhilarating; I love it yet flap all the same. If I fall I'll break a leg and, as we all know, that’s a horrible way of greeting.

"Hello Earth."

"Hello Human, break a leg."

*Splat*

My head is breaking now, the brain within a knead glob of jello. If brains were jello I'm convinced mine would be green apple: green because of the sickness of my own duality; apple, for the intoxication of my cider soul.

Dance, dance, dance! Won't you reappear for me? My feet are raw with tapping, the blood gushes forth from the heels and the toes. Heel and toe, heel and toe, la-lala-la-lala-la-la-la! Right hand is falling off, left hand is gone away already and, no matter what, I steadfastly refuse to slap my knees. Swing my body round and round, lets do it all again.
