People love and request love on this earth primarily because of a desire to be loved and needed. It is not joy of another we seek, but rather self gratification. This is not love, but selfishness. Therefore, we must eliminate the desire for reciprocation. It is once the need for self ends that the heart truly begins the path to Love.

This was definately thought provoking - however i would argue the oposite? i would say that wanting to feel self gratification is not selfish, as this would also would be what the other person was looking for? so is equally searching for the same thing selfish?
