A Riddle

Its more for writers, but I suppose a comprehending reader would understand the question as well and grasp its implications.

In a narrative is it/should it be: "The Narrator said it was so"? Or: "It was so and, therefore, the Narrator said it"?

I'm still debating my stance on the subject, really.

That depends if it's fiction or fact.

Most likely, fiction. However, one of the main goals in writing is to hold your reader in a complete suspension of disbelief. Hence the question.

this riddle is a load of logical hogwash.
the narrator says whatever the hell he wants.
usually, he lies.

The Narrator said it was so then.
At least logically in my mind.

I suppose it all depend on what you the author, are trying to say and how you want to say it...

No it really doesn't matter about the author. In order for the narrator to have its best, distinct, voice possible it should be treated like a character when you sit down to write.

what (capitalise) complete garbage!! (redundant punctuation) Go read up on how to write before u (you) actually start making up theories on writing. I sincerly (sincerely) feel sorry for you, especialy (especially) if the crap you post on this blog are samples of what you consider "good writing". A mentally handicap(ped) child could write better stuf(f) than this! (If you need to use exclamation points, your point is already lost.)

If you're going to troll, please be aware that you will be perceived as having equal brain power with a Muenster cheese if you don't spell correctly.
Common mistake of the common troll.
Thank you for trolling with us today. I would love to get hold of you. Perhaps we could discuss your writing theories over a bonfire-lit dinner.

Mari, you are simply refreshing.

I don't know which makes me smile more: the banal slush in Toxi's comments, or your little observation about the Munster cheese.

Hehe
