New Piece

I've always loved the sea, its been an endless bounty of inspiration and reference for my poetical works and a theme that I will never cease to be amazed by. Suffice to say, I'm working on a collection of piece's on that subject. Here is one from that collection...

Lighthouse on Rocky Shores

In dawn of light it stands astute—
A cloud on rocky shoals,
A watch afore bejeweled Beirut—
Gainst waves and that, winded, rolls.
With cheery red upon its slates
It stands a guard at ocean gates.

When darkness comes, then he stands proud
With beams of brazen light
That pierce through fog and foamy shroud,
Guide sailors in the night;
And lead them by humility—
A star upon the raging sea.

Cool... I read it the first time just for the sound! Nice alliteration & rhyme. Keep it up ;)
